“McQueen play filthy punk rock, chock full of the type of catchy riffs and anthemic choruses that the music scene has been lacking so severely recently.” - BIG CHEESE
HIM BRINGS THE QUEEN TO AUSTRALIA!
These days there’s more female Rock bands out there than you can shake your beer encrusted denim jacket at…so it’s about time someone shook it up!...enter McQueen…Sullen-faced and short of skirt, McQueen work that evil Lolita thing which has panting rock boys tussling with sweaty pervs for the all-important centre-front spot of every stage they step on to. Don’t be fooled though, these girls excel at the hooky punk metal riffs that got everyone hot and bothered about Nirvana, and do it so professionally and with such passion they make Ferrari look like a go-kart manufacturer.
Since forming in November 2003 UK based McQueen have been busy rockin’ alongside everyone from Juliette and the Licks, The Foo Fighters through to acts as diverse as the Kaiser Chiefs. Combining equal amounts of aggression, musicianship and melody McQueen have forged their own unique sound and always looked to innovate rather than emulate. Fronted by the brilliant Leah Duors “who has a swagger about her that positively drips with lustrous charisma” – Rocksomething.com. Her seductive whispers interchange with venomous snarls whilst the rest of McQueen throttle their instruments as if they were the necks of all the chauvinistic detractors they’ve no doubt met over the years. It’s simple for McQueen “their aim is to recreate pure Sunset Strip sleaze” - KERRANG!
Having just been announced as the national support for HIM on their March 2008 tour, McQueen will be out to show Australian fans that they are here to rock… dirty, loud and nasty!
The masters of dark atmospheric music, HIM re-defined the gothic/rock metal movement so make no mistake, tickets for the Finnish maestros tour will now be an even hotter item now that McQueen have joined the tour!
